Women’s day: Here are Entebbe’s top inspiring women

Entebbe has had great transformation in the past years because of the participation of several of its women. Women work had to build brands, organizations, alliances, businesses and households.

Entebbe Post, this women’s day brings you the top five inspiring women in Entebbe Municipality.

Rtn Edith Munuube

She is the brain behind Art and Crafts exhibition each Easter season. Art, crafts being man made, present the unique beauty of the Pearl. Each time tourism jet into the country, they look for such unique preferences that remain memorable to mark a great journey.

Munuube’s initiative has seen many of the young children in Entebbe employed in the art and crafts sector and generate market for such products abroad. Her shop sales art and crafts merchandise at the Central Market in Entebbe.

Modesta Tezikyabiri

She is a councilor representing the disabled at the Municipal council. Her affection towards helping the disabled saw her start the Modesta Foundation. The organization helps close to 100 children with several disabilities and impairment.

Her tenacity goes a long way in inspiring and invigorating the disabled children’s tenacity to realize that even with impairment, all is not lost; they can still start a life.

Maria Assumpta Nakamya

She is among the first Ugandans in the coca cola music awards. Because of her much love for music, she started Entebbe Youth, music awards that saw the emergence of new kids, now on the block including King Saha.

An all-time councilor representing people in Kiwafu at the Municipal council, Nakamya’s advocacy and oratory inspires all women to speak up and fight for their rights and all that belongs to them.

Rose Tumusiime

First female Member of Parliament representing Entebbe municipality. Tumusiime who also served as a councilor representing Bugonga at the Municipal council. Her long leadership affiliations saw her impact society especially women in uplifting their way of life and ability to work hard.

Sitting at the highest level of Uganda’s legislative agenda representing an area with Garrisons and Military bases presents an able platform for her to instill adoration from the young school going girl child that everything is possible, if you believe.

Jane Scholastica Najjemba Baguma

She is a health worker. She holds hospital situated in Katabi Busambaga where several of Entebbe dwellers are treated. Health workers are always appreciated when they save lives, the sole reason her deeds were rewarded to lead Entebbe Division A as Chairperson.
