With pain, injuries, MP Nambooze supports burnt Mpigi Secondary School

Mpigi District Woman member of Parliament Teddy Nambooze has defied all odds, walked on crutches to support the burnt Wamatovu Muslim Seed Secondary School, situated in Kiringente Sub County, Mpigi District.

The MP recently was involved in an accident that left her with dire injuries and crutches. However, despite her condition, the MP visited Wamatovu Muslim Seed Secondary School that became a victim of a fire incident that left the school heavily affected.

The school has more than 1400 students. It is a seed school supported by government of Uganda.

However, with her Tereeza Mpigi through Education project, the MP went against all odds, despite her dangerous condition to support the children whose property was destroyed by the fire incident.

Nambooze with crutches at the school

Upon getting the news of the wild fire, the MP donated several mattresses to the students who were affected by the fire and, also visited the school to ascertain the magnitude of the damage.

The MP said, it was tragic that the school faced such challenges. However, she said, she was willing to help despite her condition.

“I want the Mpigi students to thrive in education, for it is a key to opening potential for all our children. That is why I am here, despite my challenges and injuries,” she said.

The school was grateful to the MP who visited the premises immediatly after the fire incident that left one of the school’s main dormitories in dire need of support.

The school board of directors remained appreciative for the kind support from Hon Teddy Nambooze who they never expected since she was suffering with severe injuries attained from a road accident.

The parents, teachers prayed for the MP to recover from the injuries to ensure that she can be well enough to support them.
