Veteran Entebbe journalist Henry Oketch has momentarily put his media shoes aside and stepped into the muddy political arena.
Oketch who has been a correspondent for Simba Fm and national Broadcaster UBC Tv for over a decade in Entebbe took to his Facebook page on Monday to ask for people’s support as he vies for the LC 3 Councillor post in Manyago on the NRM ticket in the 2021 general elections.
“Greetings to you my lovely Residents of Manyago 1 Division A Entebbe municipality please lets Journey together in this struggle and Make Manyago One of the best villages in Entebbe city.
I beg for your support as Councillor LC 111 Manyago 1
2021-2026 (The voice for the People)” he wrote.
Oketch now joins a number of journalists who have joined politics standing for different posts including NTV’s Miles Rwamiti who is standing for MP Hoima on the FDC ticket, NBS Tv’s Joyce Bagala for Woman MP seat Mityana district on NUP ticket and Kazibwe Bashir for MP Kawempe South on the NUP ticket among other journalists.
