Two Dead, several injured in a four-car accident on Entebbe road

At least 2 people have died and four remain in hospital with life-threatening injuries after 4 cars and 1 motorcycle collided in Bwebajja along Entebbe Road on Friday.

The five vehicles involved in the crash include a yellow Fuso Fighter Truck UAW 869K, a white Isuzu Forward Truck UAJ 907D, a blue matatu UAW 356J, a white matatu UAS 654G and a bajaj boxer motorcycle UEN 738X.

According to eyewitnesses the heavily loaded trucks collided into each other after the driver of the blue matatu tried to make a U-turn near the Bwebajja Craft stage causing breaks to fail.

And knocked another matatu off the road, and ran into 2 hawkers who died on their way to the hospital, leaving the drivers of the trucks and their passengers in life-threatening conditions.

The blue matatu was hit in the collision and rammed into a motorcycle on the opposite side of the road but luckily the cyclist survived unharmed.

All the passengers of the white matatu that was en route to Entebbe also left unharmed according to driver Nyombi Charles.

The casualties are being treated at Kiruddu Hospital. More to follow as we await a conclusive police report.
