The Buganda Monarch Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II visited the Kampala Passports Office to Update his Passport details and also apply for the new East African Community electronic passport on Friday.
The Kabaka was given a guided tour by the Minister of Intenal Affairs – Maj Jeje Odongo and he was taken through the process of data verification by the Ministry officials.
In a short press briefing, Odongo notified that the old passports will be unrecognised after January 2021, and thus Ugandans are urged to upgrade to the new E-passports to avoid any inconveniences.
The new E.A.C passports are a positive step in the unification process of the region, and also easing trade across the different borders.
