Rotary Club of Bwerenga’s Super Signature Project: Elevating Education and Literacy in Entebbe

On 9th August 2024 the Rotary Club of Bwerenga hosted the District Governor Agnes Batengas for the governors visit.The Governor came in company of 3 past district Governors; PDG Emannuel Katongole, PDG Kenneth Mugisha, PDG Peace Taremwa.

Among other special guest was the government representatives the mayor Katabi town council, Ronald Basamulakere, local council authority and representatives from Bugiri-Bukasa where lies Bugiri Primary Public School, a school that was adopted by RC Bwerenga in Kawuku Entebbe.Positive feed back from Bugiri-Bukasa natives.

The natives of Bugiri-Bukasa represented by their L.C hailed the Rotary Club of Bwerenga for the remarkable improvement of the school. This is visibly indicated by the shooting rise in number of pupils from 23 to 200 and more pupil, a result of improved learning facility and water provision.The 3D project presentation The presentation marked a milestone in Bwerenga’s journey towards digital transformation, as Projects Director Frank Kansiime seamlessly navigated a digital display that showcased the project’s rich history and future plans.

The audience was mesmerized by a stunning 3D animation representation of the school construction, which provided a vivid glimpse into the project’s vision.Kansiime’s report highlighted two significant projects undertaken by the club so far. The “Plant My Balance” initiative saw Bwerenga planting 100 trees in their home estate, The Jomayi Estate, and an additional 100 trees with the children at Bugiri Public School in the neighbouring village. “This eco-friendly endeavour not only promoted environmental sustainability but also instilled a sense of responsibility in the young minds.” He mentioned.As he projected the children joining in the tree planting process, Kansiime’s face lit up with excitement.

“This is a sign of continuity in environmental protection!” he exclaimed, emphasizing the importance of passing on eco-friendly values to the next generation.The second project, the construction of Bugiri Public Primary School’s classroom block, was a testament to the school’s commitment to providing quality education.

This phase-three project marked a significant milestone in the school’s signature initiative.Your Project is very special!Governor Agnes Batengas’ eyes sparkled with admiration as she addressed the crowd, her voice filled with enthusiasm.

“I am truly blown away by your project!” she exclaimed, her words echoing the impressive impact of the club’s efforts. The Governor’s praise was heartfelt, her tone conveying the depth of her admiration. “You are making a tangible difference in the lives of people in Bugiri!” she emphasized, her words a testament to the club’s dedication.

The centennial project’s success story left Governor Batengas in awe. “The results are nothing short of phenomenal,” she observed, her gaze sweeping the room. “With helping hands, the sky’s the limit for even greater success and impact!” Her words served as a rallying cry, inspiring the audience to strive for excellence.

Governor Batengas also commended RC Bwerenga’s commitment to membership growth highlighting the significance of its 34 present members and 14 under mentorship. “I salute the charter members who are still actively involved,” she said, her voice filled with appreciation.

“Your dedication is a shining example of the power of teamwork and perseverance.”The presentation was followed by a symbolic ground-breaking ceremony, where Governor Agnes Batengas officially signed the project canvas, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the school’s development.

The evening reached a crescendo as RC Bwerenga members presented a generous gift of a cheque of $1000, a gift to the Rotary Foundation. The gesture was met with applause, a testament to the lasting impact of the club’s endeavours in service.
