Rally driver Ponsiano Lwakata has called upon the Directorate of Public Prosecution to immediately change the state prosecutor handling a case where is is accused of malicious damage of property and criminal trespass in Mukono.
Early this year Lwakataka was arrested by authorities in Mukono for allegedly trespassing on a piece of land situated I. Kiwanga, Goma Division of Mukono Municipality.
The complainant George William Kawooya alleges that together with Police later forwarded the matter to court in Mukono and remanded to Kauga Prison for two weeks.
However, he says the state prosecutor handling the case Mr Jonathan Muwaganya has on several occasions been seen taking bribes from the complainant handling the case.
He says, Muwaganya has on several occasions threatened to send him to prison, conspiring with those he says, want to steal family land which he acts as a custodian.
“Written several letters to the DPP but haven’t recieved Justice, even with the overwhelming evidence I have provided,” he says.
He now wants a new state prosecutor to handle the case for him to be confident, he could get justice.
It is alleged that Lwakataka broke down houses of residents Joseline Namanya, Anthony Lugonvu and George William Kawooya who were tenants on the said piece of land.
The two acre piece of land belonged Antonio Kiggundu who died. Pursuance of letters of Adminstration was incepted giving Lwakataka (Kiggundu’s son) rights over the same piece of land.
Jonathan Muwaganya the said state prosecutor, when contacted said he is not bothered by baseless allegations.
