Police blocks Yusuf Nsibambi from accessing voters in Bunjako

Police in Mpigi District has blocked, brutally arrested counsel Yusuf Nsimbabi as he tried to access the electorate in Bunjako, an Island sub county in Mawokota South, Mpigi District.

Nsibambi, an MP contestant in the area was according to the electoral calendar supposed to be in the area to rally support for his candidature.

An eye witness, Patrick Kalanda says, the amount of force seemed excessive even and “instead of offering mitigation measures, police decided to take him away.”

Nsibambi is competing with EALA legislator Suzan Nakawuki, Kenneth Kiyingi Bbosa and NUP’s Dr Joel Mirembe for the slot.

He is formerly Kampala District Land Board Chairperson. He is also an active Forum for Democratic Change advocate.

Police in Mpigi is yet to ascertain charges against the Contestant. However, sources within the force in Mpigi say,he is accused of violating the COVID 19 Standard Operating Procedures.
