Uganda’s most successful football club, SC Villa has announced the signing of stylish play maker Goffin Oyirowoth.
The creative play-maker joins the Jogoos as a free agent after he had a brief spell with FUFA Big League outfit Katwe United Football Club.
Oyirowoth penned a two year deal at Sports Club Villa, as confirmed by the club’s Public Relations Officer Bernard Ewalu Olupot.
“Goffin is a player I have watched for a while I have been watching for a while and I have been immensely impressed. We are excited to have him on the team. He will definitely beef our squad add a lot of value.” Edward Kaziba, SC Villa head coach noted.
Oyirowoth won the national copa coca cola championship in 2018 with Buddo Secondary School.
The same year, he was also victorious during the East Africa Secondary Schools championship held in Burundi.
He signed his first professional contract at Express under Kefa Kisala as head coach.
When Kisala was shown the exit door and George Ssimwogerere came on board, Oyirowoth was also deemed surplus to requirements.
Last season, he trained with Wakiso Giants but ended up on loan at Katwe United.
Sports Club Villa has now signed three players in this primary players’ transfer window after goalkeeper Meddie Kibirige and left back Andrew Kiwanuka.
Kibirige came from Tooro United and Kiwanuka was formerly at Express.
The Jogoos also renewed the employment contracts for long serving right back Joseph Nsubuga and goalkeeper Samson Kirya.
