The Forum for Democratic Change(FDC) Party President, Patrick Oboi Amuriat has stressed that they will not make any alliance with People Power citing illegalities surrounding their newly formed National Unity Platform(NUP) Party.
While meeting FDC flag bearers and delegates in the Rwenzori Sub-Region on Tuesday, Amuriat distanced himself from the possibility of forming an alliance with People Power ” pressure group that was not legally recognized, with no structures, even when it changed under NUP, it is still in courts of law, whose fate is not known.”
However, he hopes they can have a coalition formed after the 2021 elections, for they share a similar struggle of winning back the country for the people, but now the idea seems impossible.
This comes at a time, when FDC is still struggling after the depature of former party presidential and one of the most fielded presidential candidate for the Party Dr. Kizza Besigye who decided to step aside from active politics.
Patrick Amuriat is seeking the party flag for the top office against Wasswa Birigwa under the FDC party.
