Officer who leaked CJ leaving secret meeting with Museveni will not be presented to court

Sources at Entebbe Police Station and the Entebbe Chief Magistrates court have indicated that John Endiando, a police officer attached to the ICT department at Entebbe police will not appear in court for prosecution.

Endiando was last week arrested for allegedly leaking a video where top Judicial chiefs including the Principal Judge Flavian Zeija, Deputy Chief Justice Richard Buteera and Chief Justice Owiny – Dollo leaving state house after a secret meeting with President Yoweri Museveni.

The three allegedly held a meeting with Museveni moments after a Supreme court petition to annul President Yoweri Museveni’s election victory was filed by main contender, NUP’s Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu.

Kyagulanyi came second after Museveni in the just concluded Presidential elections.
After the leaking of the video, officers at Entebbe Police Station and in the Judiciary wondered how a highly security video had been leaked to the public.

Later officers from the Uganda Police Force in Kampala picked Endiando since he was on duty on the day the video was recorded. Sources from both the Uganda Police Force and the Special Forces Command believed he had leaked the video.

The sources in the Uganda Police Force said Endyango will not be presented before court neither will he be presented at the Police Professional Standards Unit as he “learns a lesson”.

“What he did was against the law and would jeopardize security. It is now in the hands of the top security chiefs of this country,” a top police officer in Entebbe said.

Special Forces refused to comment on the matter.
