State Minister of Finance for Investment and Privatization and Koboko Municipality Member of Parliament has suffered a major defeat in the National Resistance Movement(NRM) primaries at the hands of Charles Ayume.
Anite has came to be a hit during the controversial elimination of article 102 b from the Uganda Constitution which provided for the age cap for presidential candidates, she is faulted for bragging about her being untouchable for security forces were on her said, but Ayume touched her anyway.
Anite with a host of other ministers have been floored badly in the polls according to provisional results.
Minister Mary Busingye Karoro Okurut has been thumped by Annet Katusiime Mugisha in the Bushenyi District Woman Member of Parliament race.
Elioda Tumwesigye who is the Minister for Science, Technology and Innovation and reigning Legislator for Sheema Constituency has been denied by former Uganda Revenue Authority Commissioner for Domestic Taxes Dickson Kateshumbwa.
Also Minister of Defence and Veteran Affairs shared a similar fate when he trailed to Davis Kamukama in the Bunyagabu Country polls.
Other Ministers and incumbents that have trailed include Isaac Musumba, Molly Kamukama, Ephraim Kamuntu, Simeo Nsubuga, Rosemary Tumusiime, Beatrice Atim Anywar, Lydia Wanyoto, Christopher Kibazanga and a few others.
