NRM Pressure groups, State House in a bitter split over Museveni money
The coordinator of the NRM pressure groups network Frank Sserubiri has decried the increasing and deliberate refusal by several state House staff of failing to deliberate money and associated resources to organize the NRM rejuvenation marathon.
President Museveni was expected to be the chief guest in the flagging off of the reunion marathon on Sunday, in a function that was presumed to take more than Ugx 800, million.
In a press briefing held at the Kololo stadium with a number of pressure group members, Sserubiri said, the deliberate attempt by Powerful people at State House has left may of the supporters of the party angered by inefficiency to hold the marathon.
The marathon was supposed to take place on 10th December this year. However, with a few days left, “neither a running kit or any resource has been availed and there are no signs that the resources will be deliberated,” Sserubiri said.
Flanked by Lt. Col. Judith Asiimwe, Sserubiri who invited group after group for deliberations said, several pressure groups led by the MK Movement have for long been neglected and as such the members remain disgruntled and unhappy.
He also called upon the top leadership of the party and the President to immediately handle the issues relating to the support of all the Pressure group members to successfully rejuvenate the party.
The team has also extended the dates of the NRM marathon from December 10th and now, will be organized in the first weeks of January this year.
Highly placed sources within the NRM party say, Sserubiri’s grievances, together with his team will be handled decisively to ensure that all members are satisfied.
State House Public Relations department opted not to comment on the matter, asking for more time for consultations to understand the issue.
