NRM party primaries set, Candiates show concern over registers

The stage will be set tomorrow for National Resistance Movement-NRM primaries that have been in demand since last month. With all logistics delivered to all constituencies but worry is on the registers.

The Friday primary party elections edition will determine who gets to hoist the NRM flag for legislative seats across the nation. The candidates are raring to go, into the primaries against their own to determine the finest in the dome.

After a successful week of displaying the registers at different village polling stations for verification of names.

According to NRM Electoral Commission, no one was to be omitted or introduced to the already printed yellow books.

But the National Chairman has tasked the NRM village committees to permit new members and verify the already existing members.

This gas been received with scrutiny from some candidates, that some none party members maybe added during this exercise.

According to Dr. Daniel Kyabayinze, an NRM candidate in Busiro South, the time available before tomorrow doesn’t warrant the process to be executed keenly and my some only interests of a few.

The primaries will run through the early days of September, with all elective political positions to find a right fit for the NRM ticket in the 2021 general elections.

Elsewhere, the Democratic Party is as well kicking off its party primaries on Friday this week with Local Government positions intended to be the focus of the lots to be drawn.

This includes Municipality and Town Council Chairpersons and councillors for different areas. And will go on to vote for Member of parliament slots on Sunday.
