The People Power Movement has instituted it’s Kalangala Outpost leadership.
The leadership which includes the NRM and DP stalwarts will see that the movement in Kalangala has elected Leaders with their blessing.
Among the leaders is Isma Sserwadda, NRM’s Rajab Ssemakula, DP’s Jim Jim Gyagenda, Ronald Lwanga, Helen Nakimuli, Sylvester Ssemugenyi, among others.
Jim Jim Gyagenda, the District direct councilor for Bujumba Sub County is among those selected to lead the movement.
The elected Leaders will among other roles ensure that the Political movement amasses support, breeds leaders and, ensure visibility.
Helen Nakimuli, the female league boss in the movement says now is the time for Islanders to have sensitive leadership that aspires to improve society and its challenges.
“Kalangala Deserves better. For we are a treasure that such its leaders must understand and work hard to develop.” She says.
The team will now embark on nominating candidates for the different positions which include that of the different District and Sub County councilors, Chairmanship and the three MPs of Kyamuswa, Bujumba and Kalangala Woman.
Two major candidates, Patrick Ssemagulu Male and Dr Cyrus Kambugu have picked nominations for Kyamuswa, Fred Kintu Ssemaala has picked for Bujumba while Helen Nakimuli Walusimbi has picked nominations for Kalangala Woman MP contest.
Isma Sserwadda one of the district coordinators says they are ready to take on the leadership mantle.
