In a bid to fulfill their corporate social responsibility, National Medical Stores has donated an assortment of food items to the Entebbe Regional Referral Hospital frontline staffers.
The delivered relief items include 1300kgs of sugar,1300kgs Rice,390 ltrs of oil, 130tins of milk, 260 pkts of wheat flour, 130 bars of Soap, 260 sachets of Salt, 1300kgs of Maize flour and 130 tins(2.5) of powdered milk and will be extended to families of about 100 staff families.
The NMS General Manager Moses Kamabare says that they have always identified the needs of the hospital and chipped in to help, but this year bearing in mind that the staff members were kept away from their families by COVID-19.
The NMS Board found it necessary to extend food items to the Hospifal staff, for their undying commitment in the fight against the pandemic and hopefully they are motivated.
” The entire country is proud of the work that this referral hospital has been able to do in handling the complicated cases of Covid-19,….we also know that you have been caring for the largest number of covid cases, you must be the centre that has the best skills for this pandemic” says Jotham Musinguzi Chairman Board of Directors- NMS
The National Medical Store boss informed Journalists, that they have also been able to donate to places hit by disaster such as Bundibugyo and Kase se this year.
Dr. Moses Muwanga (hospital superintendent) applauded NMS for their support and commitment to deliver supplies to the hospital at all times, without them the fight against covid-19 would be impossible.
The Hospital superintendent confirmed that they have only 44 patients in their care, with only 16 confirmed cases, 21 suspects and 7 expectant Mothers from various quarantine centres.
The hospital staff is to retaliate corporate social responsibility drive to the National Medical Stores’ staffers by extending free cancer sscreening, free male circumcision, and Blood pressure checks.
