Nkumba residents lynch suspected thief

Residents of Buyinja zone, Nkumba central cell Katabi Town Council have lynched a suspected thief in the wee hours of Friday morning after attacking one of the residents home in an alleged attempt to rob the house.

The suspected thief identified as Maxiano Ssebamenya was lynched after residents raised an alarm when he attempted to break into Madam Magret kibirigge’s house that attracted neighbors who gave chase and apprehended the suspect.

According to residents, Maxiano was caned throughout the night and admitted to being a resident of Kabale zone neighboring Katabi Town Council before he lost consciousness, dying at 6am.

Police reached the scene at 9am to begin investigations before taking the body to the mortuary for a postmortem
