The old students of Nkumba Primary School have made another donation of UGX 11,799,000 towards the ongoing renovation works of their former school.
The Donation adds up to the initial donations in phases 1 and 2 that have enabled a face lift of the school campus to make a total of UGX 38,912,500 millions.
Under phase 3, focus will be on the renovation and improvement of the school Sick Bay ahead of the return of Candidates on the 15th day of October after the most recent easing of the COVID-19 restrictions on schools since march.
Other works include Rust elimination and roof painting on the classroom blocks, renovation of the food store and canteen block, and also enable the installation of window and door glasses on the Primary Four classroom block.
“I never hoped we would get this far, but the support from the old students is overwhelming” saidMajorie Mubeezi Kalemera(Headteacher), During trying times the Alumni Body has embarked tirelessly to mobilize funds to restore the glory of this school.” she added
Godfrey Sekisonge who is the Chairperson of the Nkumba Primary School Alumni Association indicated in his message delivered by his Deputy Richard Ssenog, that they intend to bring all alumni on board not only to give back to their parent school but as well “reunite, share our stories, share opportunities” and as well work towards restoration of the Schools Glory.
