Nkumba Primary old students call for unity in school renovation drive
The Nkumba Primary School Alumni chairperson Mr Godfrey Sekisonge has called on old students to unite and work together to ensure the continued existence of their former schools.
“”There is need to rally old students not only in the area of infrastructure improvement, but also in academic excellence, and school co-curricular activities to bring it back to it’s fame and glory” he said.
Mr Sekisonge made the remarks during the Nkumba Primary School old student’s handover of renovation works worth Shs 15 million at the school.
“The Alumni Association does not only work towards improvement of the school, but the members stand in solidarity with each other during good and challenging times. We reiterate our commitment to ensure that the school continues to ably provide a holistic education, producing citizens that can make a positive contribution to Uganda and the world at large” he said.
Sekisonge said so far over Shs 66 million has been given to the schools since October this year in renovation works.
The headmistress Ms Marjorie Kalemeera urged the old students to continue aiding the school in all it’s projects to ensure it’s continued existence.
“Despite difficult times as the whole world battles with the Covid 19 pandemic, in a period of less than five months, the old students have worked tirelessly to ensure that the school is better than it was” she said.
Renown radio personality Omulangira Ndausi of Radio Simba who completed his Primary education at the school in 1987 called on other former students to get involved in the schools efforts to regain it’s glory since it played a big role in laying a firm foundation of the success stories they are today
