Museveni inaugurates SFC HQs, warns Encroachers on Army land

President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni commissioned the new 5 billion Special Forces Command(SFC) Headquaters in Entebbe on Friday.

The Complex named the General Yoweri Museveni House will house offices of high ranking officers in the SFC division of the UPDF.

The complex was built by the SFC Construction Unit at UGX 3.48b plus UGX 1.1b that catered for newly-built dormitories for soldiers, renovated houses for non-commissioned officers, gun shades and a 30,000-litre fuel pump.

The 23 month project saw the government save over UGX 5b contrasting to the initial quotation of UGX 9b by a foreign contractor.

The president took to Facebook to commend the work done by the SFC and the importance of privacy and confidentiality when it comes to Military facilities.

“The army should continue this way, building its facilities and saving money. You should do this especially for lodgings for soldiers. It is not right for soldiers to sleep outside the barracks. What if war broke out in the night, where would we find you?” Museveni noted in a Facebook post

However the president didn’t hold back a warning towards land grabbers and encroachers on Army land.

“Encroachers on army land should not be tolerated. Encroachers should either compensate the army if they have built on the land or vacate the land and ownership reverts to the UPDF.” Museveni added
