Defending champions The Atlas Lions of Morocco are set to face Mali this Sunday in the final of the 2020 African Nations Championship (CHAN) after defeating hosts Cameroon in a thrilling 4-0 semi final showdown in Douala on Wednesday.
Soufiane Rahimi, the top scorer at the tournament continued his scoring run, netting a brace against the Indomitable Lions stretching his lead for the top scorer’s five goals with other goals coming in from Soufiane Bouftini and Mohammed Ali Bemammer.
Mali went through to the finals after defeating Guinea on Tuesday on penalties scoring all five while Guinea missed one thus crushing out after normal time had ended goalless.
This is the second time that Mali is reaching the final at CHAN. The other came in 2016 but lost to eventual winners DR Congo.
The third-place match between Cameroon and Guinea will be played on Saturday 6th.
