Mobile money agent murdered, assailants first tracked her – Owoyesigyire

The kampala metropolitan Deputy spokesperson Mr Luke Owoyesigyire has said police is investigating circumstances under which a 30 year old woman, one Bogiya Nambi, a mobile money operator was murdered by unknown assailants in katabi Town council, Wakiso district on Wednesday night.

“Police at Entebbe are investigating a case of aggravated robbery and murder of Nambi Bogiya, a mobile money operator at Nalugala. The incident happened a few metres from her rented house” he said.

Mr Owoyesigyire said the police responded to the scene with a team of detectives and flying squad unit after being informed about the shooting.

“It is alleged that the victim was trailed by a group of unknown assailants from her work place in Nalugala before she was shot dead and an unspecified amount of money taken from her” he said.

Owoyesigyire said three bullet cartridges were recovered from the murder scene.

“They will be examined to establish the firearm used, the body of the deceased has been conveyed to the city mortuary for postmortem as investigations into the murder begin” he said.

The LC 1 chairman Mr Henry Gariwango said they found the deceased lifeless body riddled with three bullet wounds in the chest, hand and ribs. The murder comes six months after an unidentified lone assailant shot dead one Isaac Sebiina a boda boda cyclist and injured Mr Bill Joseph kasongode whom he was carrying with the wife Ms Irene Namajje as they returned home from their supermarket and mobile money shop businesses barely 600 metres away from last night’s shooting
