Miss Uganda North America Vanessa Nansamba together with Miss Oregon USA Katerina Villegas arrived in Uganda on Sunday evening returned home at Entebbe International Airport to kick off her third charity annual 2020 cares Tour of Uganda.
The tour is a one week tourism culture and charity event meant to promote positive tourism values such as volunteerism, eco-tourism and cultural awareness to the international community.
The tour is organized by the Miss Uganda North America Leadership program in collaboration with the Ugandan North American Association (UNAA), Uganda Tourism Board (UTB), Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA) and media.
Ms Vanessa Nasamba said there is need to empower women in communities and schools. “In every way that we can that’s why I felt the importance of going to a secondary school to mentor, counsel donate scholastic and reading materials”
Ms katerina Villages Miss Oregon said there is an importance of showing people the importance of being a strong citizen not just for you’re their own country but the entire world.
“Am looking forward to being open minded to the whole experience and cultures of others and how it differs from mine and how I can use my gifts and talents to help others “says Katerina Villegas.
Ms Nassamba said that the duos working relationship is aimed at sensitizing towards mental health awareness, spending time with teen moms, survivors of domestic violence and sexually abused youth through putting their efforts together in different communities to show victims different coping ways so as to have mental health assistance.
The two Queens tour includes various activities that are meant to Inspire charity through empowering girls at Rubaga girls S.S for mentorship, participate in educating and cleaning up of Katanga slum to encourage proper sanitation, drawing inspiration from stories of teen mothers that have survived domestic violence and sexual abuse to become independent women.
According to a program seen by the Entebbe post there will be a tour of the central region in order to discover its beauty, cultural heritage and promoting responsible tourism visits which will be made to Murchison Falls National Park to ensure the preservation of nature’s gifts for future generation.
