Minister for Primary Education in the Ministry of Education and Sports Rosemary Nansubuga Sseninde has donated to up to 700 primary school going children in Entebbe.
The donation is part of her efforts to increase awareness and advocacy for education within the area.
Through Sseninde and Kimbugwe foundations, the Minister donated bags, pens and pencils, exercise books and containers to children in the lower primary levels of education. Lower Primary levels include classes from P1 to P3.
While donating the utilities to Nakiwogo Primary School pupils, Minister Sseninde said this is part of her Covid 19 relief items since many parents have not been working and lack enough resources to cater for the children’s basic needs while in school.
She also asked to teach children social etiquette and life skills to ensure that that they avoid unwanted pregnancies especially during this period of the Lock down.
Entebbe Division Education Officer Daniel Ndaga asked the Minister to ensure that a secondary school situated in Kigungu is funded or aided by government to ease secondary education in the Municipality.
The Minister also donated to Marine Base and St Josephs Katabi primary schools.
