Minister Rukutana, body guards arrested

Police in Ntungamo has arrested Hon Rukutana together with his three escorts on charges of inciting violence, attempted murder by shooting and malicious damage of property the suspects are being held at central Police Station in Ntungamo.

The regional police spokesperson Samson Kasasira in a memo to the media indicated that “At around 10:30 am, Hon Rukutana and his guards intercepted a Motor vehicle belonging to rival supporters who he had a argument with before pulling out his gun and he started started shooting at the motor vehicle injuring the occupants who are nursing injuries now.”

Human Rights defenders in the country, in a joint statement condemned the manner in which the Gender state minister in charge of labor behaved saying, he needs to be brought to justice.
