Hoima based Kitara Football Club has expressed the readiness to favourably compete in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
Kitara defeated Kiboga Young, a club based in Mbale 1-0 in the final with the goal scored by Brian Mululi Mayanja in the 55th minute at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru.
The club’s chief executive officer Joshua Atugonza is optimistic that the club will perform well in the top flight.
“We are ready to compete and not make numbers in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League” Atugonza remarked.
Kitara first defeated Kataka, another Mbale based club in the semi-finals.
Normal time of this game had ended goal-less before Kitara won 4-2.
In the second play-off match, Kiboga Young came from a goal down to overcome Ndejje University 3-1.
Sulaiman Tumusiime gave Ndejje University the lead in the first half.
Kiboga Young scored three second half goals through captain Jamaldin Buchochera, Brian Olega and Sula Wambede.
Now, Kitara joines UPDF and MYDA who had been earlier confirmed to have qualifies.
