NRM Stalwarts in Katabi town council have on Thursday afternoon threatened to dismiss party leadership including the Town Council Party Chairperson Abubaker Ngobi.
The NRM members who held a meeting at Kisawo Gardens in Kitala, a suburb in Katabi town council accuse Ngobi is of being dormant, sideling some of the Party Candidates while hobnobbing with members loyal to him.
Led by John Lutaaya, the members have been worried that Ngobi is only siding with Peter Ssematimba, the current Member of Parliament for Busiro South and Katabi Town Council Speaker Alex Kirega prompting a sole candidate debate within the area.
“We are tired of such leadership which only aspires to impress to the current leaders while derailing any dissent and any one who declares to contest in positions currently held by people the party chairperson supports,” says Lutaaya.
Alex Kirega hopes to contest as Katabi Town Council Chairperson’s seat currently held by Ronald Kalema while Peter Ssematimba wants to retain his seat as MP Busiro South come 2021. Katabi also hopes to be merged with Entebbe municipality to form Entebbe City by 2021.
The NRM members also accuse the Party chairperson of hiding yellow books at home with an intention of writing non members for NRM primaries. Yellow books are the official party registration books.
Nrm Party members registration will begin on the 9th of this month. Ngoobi however denied all allegations when contacted by Entebbe Post.
