Kasango widow wins battle to bury husband in Fort portal

The Civil Division at High Court has awarded the widow to the late City lawyer Bob Kasango, Ms Nice Bitarabeho kasango permission to proceed with the burial of her late husband in Fort portal.

High Court Judge Lydia Mugambe Ssali gave Bitarabeho permission who had petitioned the high court seeking orders to bury her late husband in Gweri Village, Burahaya County in kabarole district away from his ancestral home in Tororo as requested by her in laws

In the Suit, Bitarabeho asked court to consider that she is the wife of the deceased, has three children with him and therefore should be allowed to bury her husband at their family home in Fort portal instead of  his ancestral home in Tororo as Ms Rosie kabise the mother to the late kasango’s and family wanted.

 Ms kasango asked court to issue restraining orders against the late kasango’s mother Ms kabise and her relatives to allow her go on with the burial without any interruptions

Kasango succumbed to heart-related complications on 27th February 2021 in Luzira maximum prison while serving a 16-year jail term for theft of more than sh15 billion meant for pensioners.

The family of the late bob kasango led by his mother on 02nd this month grabbed the body of the deceased from A Plus Funeral home poll bearers after mass at All Saint cathedral Nakesero with the wish of burying him in Tororo

However police intercepted the family near Bweyogerere and took the body back to Aplus funeral home where it has remained as the families battled it out in court for the right of burial.
