Kagina warns drivers on Entebbe expressway against reckless driving
The executive director of the Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) Allen kagina has warned motorists using the newly constructed Entebbe Expressway to desist from reckless driving in a bid to curb rampant accidents on the road.
Ms kagina during a tour of bad spots along the road with Kampala Metropolitan Traffic Police Commander Norman Musinga and Moses Kafeero the Kampala Metropolitan Police Commander said the tour was aimed at finding measures and solutions to the rampant accidents along the road.
The UNRA boss said they identified six spots along the expressway where accidents occur and wanted to find out the cause of the accidents and time at which they mainly occur.
Mr Musinga said although the traffic police have played its regulatory role it can’t be positioned in all spots along the road and advised motorists to take the precaution of other people that use the expressway while driving.
Musinga further said the Entebbe Expressway has had a growing number of accidents due to reckless driving by motorists, who at times may be under the influence of alcohol. He further warned reckless Entebbe expressway road users will face arrest since all their actions are captured on CCTV.
Some of the areas toured by the UNRA boss Kagina and Traffic KMP traffic police boss Musinga along the expressway include Abaita Ababiri, Kitubulu, Entebbe Town among others.
