Government shall not renew the contract of Prof. David Mpango Kakuba, the Executive Director of Civil Aviation Authority once his term of office elapses on the 22nd June 2020.
Prof David Mpango Kakuba was appointed new CAA Executive Director in March 2017 succeeding Rama Makuza after his contract elapsed and exceeding retirement age.
The Director Communications Department at CAA, Vianny Mpungu Lugya, has given this clarity to avert all the earlier allegations that spread all over social media Platforms, purporting how President Museveni had sacked the CAA Boss.
‘’Since Sunday 13th June 2020 morning most Social Media Platforms were writing on how the CAA Boss Kakuba was Sacked, this is not true, but it’s that Government did not renew his contract in this Post, after clocking 65yrs of age’’ CAA’s communiqué reads in quote.
Government’s failure to renew Prof David Kakuba’s contract comes at a time when the Ministry of Transport and Communications has launched a probe into the day today daily running of the Authority both in its internal and external engagements.
State Minister for Transport and Communications Joy Kafuleka Kabatsi told Entebbe post, that all possibilities are underway, to verify how work transpires in the Authority, after complaints from workers who went to court over unfair Job recruitments in most CAA Offices.
Entebbe post has also learnt that Prof Kakuba is expected to hand over office on the 22nd June 2020 to the yet to be announced ne Civil Aviation Executive Director.
