Entebbe International might be still closed from traveling passengers, but, for a few chosen cluster, the facility is very active.
Uganda Cranes footballer Fahad Aziz Bayo used Entebbe to fly out to Israel where he is set to join FC Ashdod teammates for the pre-season training.
Bayo left the country aboard Ethiopian Airlines on Monday, 10th August 2020.
The striker signed a four year contract with Ashdod, christened as “The Dolphins” or the “Port City Team”.
The former Kibuli SS student who later played at Proline and Zambia’s Buildcon won the 2019/20 Uganda Premier League title with Vipers.
Last season, he finished as the second highest scorer in the league with 12 goals.
Ashdod is also home to Uganda Cranes defender and former KCCA captain Timothy Denis Awany.
Crafty midfielder William Kizito Luwagga is another Uganda Cranes player who plays in the Israel Premier League with Hapoel Kfar Saba.
