Entebbe Mayor Vincent Kayanja Depaul has indicated plans to rehabilitate major feeder roads within the municipality that have been affected by the severe rains. The Municipal Council is set to rehabilitate about 20 km before the end of may 2021.
The Mayor made the revelation while launching works on the 2 km Yusuf Lule Road in Busambaga,Katabi that will cost the municipality up to UGX 250 million.
We have been challenged by water that logs in this road, we have decided to work on the drainage system of the road….In this we hope to ease transportation of the people. We hope we can be able to work on other roads too.Kayanja Vincent, Mayor Entebbe Municipality
The municipality leadership is working to find remedies to problems affecting the people of Entebbe cutting from increasing water levels,unemployment, education and markets.
The area L3 councilor Innocent Ssewankambo, said that he can never be more pleased with the local folk for adhering to the surveyors’ needs and not demanding compensations which has made it easier to start the project.
Ssewankambo added that such projects are beneficial to the locals, since the youth are directly employed in the construction of their own roads and can earn money to support their families.
