The Government of Uganda through the Ministry of health has delivered a consignment of 70,000 masks to Entebbe Municipality in a continuation of the drive to combat against COVID-19.
The masks are to be distributed to residents above the age of 6, and will be rationed depending on the population per village.
According to the Municipality Health Officer Dr.John Kalyesubula , Entebbe is now considered as a border districting thanks to the porous borders on Lake Victoria, Entebbe Airport and being the frontline District in the pandemic confrontation.
While addressing members of the press at the official launch of the exercise in Entebbe, Mayor Vincent Kayanja Depaul says it has been long overdue, but he calls on his residents to keenly observe the guidelines in place by the government.
The Mayor says it’s a relief that the maternal clinic is open at the Entebbe Regional Referral Hospital but it is however high time the Ministry of Health opened to other specialised cases.
