Police in Entebbe has arrested the municipal Mayor Vincent Kayanja, MP candidate Micheal Kakembo and nine others for holding a procession, in disregard of the COVID 19 social distancing guidelines.
The leaders are currently detained at Entebbe Division Police Station. They allegedly were rallying people in Entebbe to engage in the elections of the elderly, due to take place on Tuesday.
Other arrested leaders include Francis Makumbi, the DP chairperson for Entebbe Municipality and Maggwa Ssali, the Municipal DP spokesperson.
The new electoral roadmap deters candidates from holding rallies and processions.
