The Entebbe Division A Chairperson Ms Jane scholastic Najjemba Baguma has donated food relief to over 300 residents of Katabi, Busambaga who were in dire need of food following the continued lock down which brought many of their business and source of livelihood to a halt.
“Residents have been coming to my home and many were calling asking for help or any food. So far, I have been able to get 3,000 tones of posho which am going to distribute to as many people as I can” she said.
Scholastica said she with the help of councilors and leaders we identified the sick, vulnerable that I could give them food. We have given out 5kgs of posho to each individual including 50 teachers, I hope it can help them in any way possible, even if it’s to make porridge to eat” she said.
Scholastica called upon other leaders and financially able people help those who are vulnerable alongside government efforts.
“Some residents got the prime ministers relief of UGX 100,000 but when you compare numbers, the largest number was left out that is why I decided that as we wait for more government relief let us start off as leaders in the area and help my residents especially Boda boda riders, single mothers, youths who were employed but are no longer able to move and work” she said
