A 27-year-old woman Christine Nansubuga, a resident of Mayanzi Kigungu in Entebbe Municipality is pinning her former lover and father of her 2 children Fred Kiyimba for stealing her household items and cash amounting to UGX 100,000.
The household items include chairs, 2 mattresses, a bed, 2 blankets, beddings utensils, and other items destroyed on-site during the raid.
Nansubuga told Entebbe Post that Kiyimba returned home after an 8-month long stint away from home with the intent of reconciling with her.
“He left us since February, I have been working all sorts of odd jobs to support my children and pay rent… I was terrified to see Fred coming back to us after entertaining other women” Nansubuga intimated
Kiyimba who is a fisherman, left the family in February this year after love went sour with Nansubuga. It is believed that Kiyimba had got into disputes with their neighbors hence forcing his move.
Memories of the couple’s frequent violent fights are still fresh and vivid in the eyes of their neighbors. One of the neighbors recounted the day Kiyimba smashed several windows over a dispute with one of the neighbors and they have since regarded him a danger to the family.
We managed to trace and talk to Fred Kiyimba, he informed us that all his actions were in line with the law and under the knowledge of the local council 1 chairman.
“All the things I took from the house are mine, and there is no need of leaving her anything if she doesn’t accept me as her man, a man can return to his home whenever he wants.” Kiyimba said
Nansubuga says that the local authorities have not been helpful, but rather facilitated the theft of her property.
