Dismay at People Power as Bobi Wine Drops Roy Ssemboga for Kazibwe Bashir

There has been deep manifestation of anger at the National Unity Platform headquarters as the party President Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine opted to drop support for his longtime ally and mobilizer Roy Ssemboga for Kazibwe Bashir in the Kawempe South Parliamentary elections.

Sources from the People Power Movement intimated to Entebbe Post that Mr. Kyagulanyi, in a surprising turn also asked his key social media pundits Selector Davie and Dan Magic to drop support for the 82 guild President of Makerere University.

Another source told Entebbe Post that Bobi Wine also invited Roy Ssemboga and asked him to drop out of the race in favor of Mr. Kazibwe Bashir, the President of the Uganda Journalists Association.

Ssemboga, together with a host of other individuals, have been close associates of the Kyadondo East legislator. “Roy was so instrumental in the election of Bobi Wine. He has also been close to the Principal until today when the information was revealed,” a source indicated.

At the People Power headquarters where Ssemboga has been a darling, a somber mood ensured as the news of the deliberations broke out. Many people decided to leave the headquarters before 3.00 pm. “Some candidates remained un attended to. We couldn’t manage the pain of losing such a loyal cadre.” A staffer told Entebbe Post

Kazibwe has for the past three months been ridiculed by the public for among others, betraying People Power as key organization secrets were being traded to different political opponents and, plotting the arrest of Roy Ssemboga during the COVID 19 lock down as the later met some of his agents.

People Power Secretariat remains tight lipped on the occurrences. Ssemboga too refused to comment on the issue when asked by Entebbe Post.

Ssemboga has always been defined as the People Power most eligible battler after leading the University team to winning key Guild elections in Kyambogo, Makerere, Nkumba, Muteesa 1 Royal University as the campuses were painted red for People Power candidates to win.

It is not clear if Bobi Wine wants to deploy Roy Ssemboga in a different key strategic position as part of his efforts of building a strong election campaign team.
