Curfew operations return: Motorcycles, Vehicles impounded

The Kampala Metropolitan police Deputy Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire has revealed that over 300 motorcycles and Vehicles have been impounded and suspects arrested in the Kampala Metropolitan area on Friday night as police intensified curfew operations.
“A number of those were in bars, and others had no masks on. Those arrested will be produced in courts of law on Monday,charged with negligent acts likely to spread an infectious disease” he said.
Owoyesigyire said the intensified curfew operations were aimed at enforcing the Ministry of Health SoPs due to the recent increase in Covid-19 cases and deaths.
“These operations are continous. Those who don’t want to fall victim should follow guidelines issued by the Ministry of health. Together, we can fight to bring down the surging COVID-19 numbers” he said.
