Court Martial of Appeal overturns Kitatta’s verdict

Abdallah Kitatta is yet to rejoin his family sooner than expected after the initial sentence of over 8 years was crashed by the Court Martial.

The army court of appeal has overturned the 8year,8months, and 6days jail sentence handed to convicted and jailed Bodaboda 2010 Association patron Abdallah Kitata together with his personal bodyguard Sowali Ngobi.

The two were convicted on charges of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.

Justice Elly Tyuryamubina has now ruled that the pair serves only a year, 8 months and 6 days‬ after finding the initial verdict was rather harsh and excessive.
