Breaking: Fire guts Entebbe Airport warehouse
An incident involving a fire outbreak has occurred at the DAS Warehouse located in the vicinity of Entebbe International Airport on Tuesday, September 12, 2023.
The incident that saw a team from the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority struggle to put out the fire to avoid any damage at the airport saw a joint team of fire-fighting services is engaging to contain the blazing fire.
“The exact cause of the fire will be investigated. DAS is one of the Ground Handlers operating at the airport with offices adjacent to Protea Hotel, outside the airport’s perimeter fence.” Uganda Civil Aviation Authority wrote on its Twitter page.
A source at the airport told one of our reporters that the warehouse that was affected had a number of mosquito nets set to be taken to the Ministry of health and later distribution to the local population in Uganda.
It is not the first fire incide that guts Entebbe Airport and it’s vicinities. The incident is said to be threatening airport and aviation security.
