The National Unity Platform will launch it’s first of a kind high tech party cards on Tuesday morning. The Party President and Kyadondo East Legislator Mr Robert Kyagulanyi will also make a clarification on the status of People People after the take over of the National Unity Platform.
Sources at the Kamwokya based People Power Movement say, the leaders are greatly dismayed by the misrepresentation of the status of People Power after the acquisition of a driver, the NUP Political Party.
Reference has been made on the recent attacks of the People Power Movement by Dr Stella Nyanzi, a contestant in the Kampala Woman MP race.
Nyanzi over the weekend described People Power including it’s Principal Robert Kyagulanyi as autocratic and incompetent, a comment that didn’t get down well with the People Power Supporters.
In a press briefing at 10.00 am today, the Principal, Mr. Kyagulanyi has agreed with the team at the NUP that all people seeking to contest under the People Power Movement from different parties will come as a block from a given party and ensure negotiations.
“People will come as Independents, others from FDC, DP NUP, NRM ANT among others. People Power will be a uniting factor for all those. Bobi Wine however remains the Principal.” A source who doesn’t want to be named told Entebbe Post.
Other issues to be introduced will be the National Unity Platform party cards which will among other things be electronic with a security bar code that would easily help identify genuine cards from fake ones.
“This would prevent other parties from promoting fake defections when cards are printed from fake people without bar security codes that can easily be traced,” a source added.
There have on several occasions been fake defections from NRM and opposition FDC and DP parties with many party cards being printed without parties clearance, later to be torn apart to portray defections.
