Blogger Isma Olaxess charged with inciting violence, remanded to kitalya

Faded blogger Tusubira Ibrahim alias Isma Olaxess has been charged with inciting violence by the Buganda road court this afternoon and remanded to kitalya Government Prison.

Prosecution told court that on the 17th this month Olaxxes incited the general public to commit terrorism, after he recorded a video that went viral on social media calling against the alleged persecution of Muslims by security forces after a number of them were arrested following the recent bomb attacks in the city.

Prosecution told court that Isma Olaxxes’s actions promoted violence which is contrary to section 4191) (a) (c) & (d) of the penal code Act Cap 120.

Court heard that on 17th November, Olaxess at kyanja Village wakiso District recorded and published a video with utterances likely to degrade, revile, expose to hatred or contempt to promote in any other way feelings of ill will or hostility among against any group of persons on account of religion.

According to the Penal code act section 21 (1) incitement of violence is an offence punishable by law
