Babirye Kabanda, St. Mary’s Junior School Masaka Donates Millions to Buddu FC Ahead of Masaza Cup Quarter finals

Former Masaka District Legislator Hon. Babirye Mary Kabanda together with her Masaka based St. Mary’s Junior School Kaddugala Masaka have donated 2.6million shillings and groceries to Buddu County Football Club (Buddu FC) ahead of Masaza Cup quarter finals slated for this Weekend.

The groceries included fruits like Pineapple, apples, sugar, bathing and washing soap, sweet banana, water melons, eggs, toothpaste etc, plus 2million shillings to the team and Ugx600,000 to the team managers.

While handing over the cash and groceries to Buddu FC at Kitovu Sports Arena in Masaka City, the Director St. Mary’s Junior School Kyabakuza Masaka and Babirye Kabanda Development Foundation Hon. Babirye Mary Kabanda said she is already supporting the team to win the 2024 Masaza Cup.

“We are always committed to supporting Buganda Kingdom activities and backing up our Buddu county team with necessary support as it strives to lift the Buddu county flag in sports. We encourage you to double your efforts in promoting football as a talent because it is a source of employment and development which feeds the richest men in the whole world.” Babirye told the Buddu FC players.

Hon. Babirye also urged players to work as a team with discipline to win the 2024 Masaka Cup tournament.

The Buddu FC head Coach Simon Ddungu commended the Hon. Babirye Mary Kabanda for the support towards the team and pledged to win Kabula FC at the first leg of the quarter finals.

The team captain Ssebulime also applauded Babirye Kabanda who doubles as Director St.Jude SSS Kyabakuza Masaka for always supporting local sports and pledged to work tooth and nail to win this year’s tournament.

Mr. Joseph Lutaaya, the Chairman Buddu FC said they need over 80 million shillings to support the team at the quarter finals stage and commended the prominent Educationist Babirye Kabanda for the support. He called upon more well wishers to support the team to win the tournament.

On Sunday 22nd September 2024, Buddu FC will be facing off Kabula FC at Lyantonde for the first leg and the return leg will be played over the next weekend at Sports Arena Kitovu Masaka.
