Another Senior NTV Journalist Quits

John Cliff Wamala, another profound journalist at the Serena based NTV has called it quits.

Wamala bid farewell to his followers in a tweet, after five years of dedicated service.

Humble, renowned and profound, Wamala covered the MV Templar tragedy, the 2021 elections and is a victim of brutality by the state.

Wamala, together with several other journalists including Irene Abalo of the Daily Monitor and Josephine Namakumbi of NBS were beaten severely by security while covering NUP President Robert Kyagulanyi take a rights violation petition at the UN office of Human Rights.

He said, on World Press Freedom Day this year at Hotel Africana that he was traumatized by the incident.

Wamala covered Politics, Human Rights and good governance at NTV. He is the fourth renown person to leave the station this year after Frank Walusimbi and Herbert Zziwa.

NTV is ranked the best Media outlet in the country. The station provides the best human interest, investigative and current affairs in Uganda.

It is not clear where Wamala is heading after his NTV departure.
