AJUNA TREASURED: The 22 year old seeking to be the next Central Youth MP

For now is the time for diversity. Now is the time for a new face and, now is the time for the enhancement of a youthful agenda.

This is a message by Treasured Ajuna, one of the few people seeking to become the next Central Youth MP.

The position has for long been held by a number of people who believed in the idea that it can be their time to be, the new leaders in the central region.

From Mariam Nalubega, through Patrick Nakabaale, Babirye Kityo Sarah, and now Agnes Kirabo, the youths in the central region still desired for proportional representation with leaders that make them better and transform their lives.

It is one a trait Treasured Ajuna seeks to bring about as a new phase of transformational leadership in the country.

At 22years, born and raised from Ntungamo district, Ajuna is a son to Herbert Mujuni and Miss Debrah Nahabwe.

He Completed his O level from Kajjansi Progressive Secondary School and his A level from Old Kampala SS. He is currently at Makerere University Business School, persuing a Bachelor of Business Statistics.

Well as he is believed not to be a Muganda, Treasured Ajuna has been a resident of Kansanga, Kiggundu Zone since 2010 and is completely aware of the system in Kampala and the challenges faced by the young people especially in Central Region.

According to his manifesto, Ajuna is determined to address issues such as the unemployment among the young people and is willing, through vocational skills training to produce job makers.

He also believes that the Government should construct more vocational training institutes instead of giving funds to individuals through projects like Emyooga Since the funds become very insufficient when divided to each individual.

He is also determined to advocate for the construction of more Mental Health Centers in Uganda since most young people are victims of drug abuse and “some are mentally depressed due to financial related issues and yet Uganda has only one major Mental health Hospital which is Butabika,” he says.

The youthful contestant is also determined to fight against the Uganda’s weak education system that doesn’t specialize on one’s interest which has led to school drop outs since some students are discouraged due to poor performance in areas of study they’re not even interested in.

AJUNA is also determined to ensure education for all through advocating for low fees structure in the private schools that tend to charge high school fees which discourages some parents to take their children to school.

But can Ajuna win?

The Ajuna candidacy is premised on the fact that their is dire need to make the Central region better and able to share on the National cake.

“This requires better support and a network that determines how and when to support the people which Ajuna is capable of,” says one of his campaigners.
