Airforce retires 24 officers, air men

The Deputy Commander of the Air Force Major General Tumusiime katsigazi has officiated the retirement ceremony of 2 senior officers, 4 officers and 18 soliders today at Airforce headquarters.

In his remarks he thanked the retirees for their contribution to the security of the country and thus retiring honourably.

The Deputy Commaander of the Air Force urged the retirees to take part in civilian programmes and asked their spouses to take part in the presidential support fund to compliment on the incomes of their spouses .

He told them to be extra careful during this election time and not to be used by the politicians for their selefish ends and emphasised owning a national identity card as a key to qualify to vote.

“You have retired today but you still in active reserve meaning that if any format of indecent behavior is manifested then the arm of the army shall catch with you.”

He concluded by reminding the retirees to be good ambassadors in their communities and that the army leadership will keep them on tract for any available opportunities .

Col Wycliff Kamugisha the highest ranked retiree on behalf of the other retirees thanked the UPDF fraternity and mostly Airforce for naturing them till today when they are retiring honorably and promised to be good ambassadors of the UPDF back home.

He encouraged the serving officers and airmen to maintain discipline inorder to reach their retirement day honourably as well.

The ceremony was attended by the DPA Airforce Brig Rebecca Mpagi, Wing Commanders, Member of Parliament for Entebbe Hon Rosemary Tumusiime, RDC Entebbe Noor Njuki and Directors at Airforce.
