287 Domestic Workers rescued from Oman

A group of 287 Ugandan Nationals and legal residents who were stranded in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan have been finally repatriated, and are expected to jet into the country today

This flight departed from Queen Alia International Airport today morning at 7:50am and is expected to arrive at Entebbe International Airport this afternoon aboard Jordan Aviation flight no. JAV 3875.

The group is made up of Domestic workers who were out of contract by the time the Corona Virus Disease Pandemic hit the global radar causing international air spaces to be locked.

This repatriation flight from Jordan is part of efforts by the Ugandan Ministry of Internal Affairs to rescue Ugandan Nationals who have been stranded abroad since the shut of global borders and air spaces.

About 4000 Ugandans have been repatriated in the exercise, and many more expected to return through the different embassies and missions of Uganda abroad.
